Spiti

Popular as a desert mountain valley, Spiti Valley lies in the north-eastern region of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Possessing a distinctive Buddhist culture, very similar to that of Tibet and Ladakh region of India, Spiti is popular for Buddhist monasteries such as Key monastery, Dhankar Monastery, Tabo Monastery and Gue Monastery (which has a 500-year-old mummified monk, Sangha Tenzin, who is believed to have given up his life while meditating). Mesmerizing landscapes, moonscapes, high motorable passes, lakes and hamlets make Spiti a must visit destination.
